Hi,

I've got a problem with my map. It is a problem with the small rocks in the forest, snow plains, deserts, etc.. The problem is that every players can pass through those rocks. There's the same problem with the small trees everywhere. I'm using dragon mod 11. Is there is any way to do that players can't pass through those rocks and small trees ?

Lokscander

P.S. : I'm not talking about mountains... but rocks.

I've taken a screen shot of what's my problem with those rocks.

I also have two other problems : One with the jungle trees and the other with those unseen tiles. There they are.

The first "problem" is client/emulator dependant. It really has nothing to do with Dragon.
The void tile is some leftover debugging; tiles for that transition don't exist. I've commented them all out in the latest download, which I would suggest grabbing as it has a few other goodys.

The jungle tree in the 3rd shot.....OOPS.....I know I was messing with those scripts a few weeks ago, trying to get them to place better. I could have sworn it was all fixed. I would see how that comes out after you download the latest scripts. Let me know if it's still bad and I'll fix it.

*slaps himself*

Me and my bad habit of not unzipping the updates (I do download them... but I forget to replace the old version :? ). The Void tiles and the jungle trees are all correct now.

But, I've got some other problems while trying to do the caves of my map.

I am following the Cave Making tutorial by Ryandor step by step on the web site but it gives me that. The cave walls are kinda... ugly in the first shot and in the second, when I put some mountain with World Forge, it gives me that. If I completely cover my cave with the mountain in World Forge, it still gives me a normal mountain, not a cave like it should be. Has the Tutorial changed since Mod 11 or it is the same ?

Ahhhhh....No. That method won't work with the way the mod is setup currently. What I had planned (and somewhat started on) was a mod11b that you would run to make features like static caves and more.

Ry's method in that tutorial is a very good method, it just requires some messing with the scripts to make happen.

You would need to make the caves place a static floor tile always, as well as static transition tiles. These scripts are designed for map tile caves, not static. Those "ugly" transitions are OSI's caves, but if you don't like them you can replace that (black2cave) file with the following:

Code:

Now at current time I have not gone over and fixed the statics scripts yet. Currently the old scripts should still be in the statics directory and you can add them in the statbetweentrans.txt as needed. The files are in the black2cave and cave2black area (there are multiples with similar names, and you don't use all of them at once).

When I replace Black2Cave by your script up there, it says 000 is not an integer value. What does it mean ?

P.S. : Sorry for all that hindrance. :? I'll just wait that you fix the statics and then I'll ask my questions about the caves.

You should have 1 blank line at the end of the file.

Doublecheck that your copy and paste job didn't mangle it somehow. I doublechecked that post and it is all correct.

It's all the same as the post up there but it still says 000 is not an integrer value. But, the upper comment says Mod10 and I'm using Mod11... does it change something in the script ?

No, it really doesn't matter. The differences between mod 10 and mod 11 are mainly in the color table and maptrans. Some of the scripts still say mod 10. The more recent ones say mod 11. Currently also mod10 doesn't have some of the newer scripts; I'll go back and add them in when they're all done.

Are you sure that it is this script where it is hitting the error?

Yup. I start Dragon and when it comes to Black2Cave.txt, it says 000 is not an integrer value
