paintshop pro is really easy. especially if you have a premade *.bmp that used the color palette for dragon. Paintshop will autoload the palette, so no need to install one.
my suggestion, download some public map from a site (there are several listed around these boards) and clear it out for your work.

I use Paint Shop -- what I did to get started was: Go into Dragon/Addon/FullMap and find "dragon.bmp". Once you open that (like Dian said) it will load the color palette, and you will have the correct size image for your map (6144 x 4096).

Other than this I'm not sure how to help get you started. If you still can't get it to work post the problem you're having and we'll try to help you through it.

ok this is what happened.....i made a very basic map really....all water and a big green island. Now i put into a rar file and put it on angelfire and it patches with uogateway and all but when i log in, i end up in water, and if i get on land i cant run around, and there are trees and like doors n such. What did i do wrong?

wow holy crap i just fixed all the problems basically lol. I put the water at -5 and the grass at 0 and the map looks BEUTIFUL, the coastline is perfect, its so great im like wicked happy lol.

THe one thing now is that (i use UOX) when i type ",add" and goto "GM menu" and then to "Travel" ill click on Britian and then to Blackthorns castle. Now the problem is that the doors from the castle still remain. Why is that?
