I had been using 1.03.62 for long time, and just downloaded Dragon 1.05.00 the other day, well when i actually used it a lot of things dont match up. for instance, my cave floor areas are water.
I use Pallet_9 with PaintShop Pro7.
Any ideas?

Yes, my mod doesn't work with 1.05 very well. There are some distinct differences in how the two version work, but I never really was able to study and figure them out. Since I can't actually find any true advantage to making my mod woth with 1.05, I've decided it's not really worth it to upgrade the scripts.
Sorry.

hmm, thats too bad.. I am too close to finished with my bmp stages as well, to try and get involved in modifying the scripts.. Otherwise i would not have even asked this, more than likely :)
Although It runs about 2x faster than the older version, so it was dissapointing to see it not compatible.
oh well, thanks for the prompt reply.

Just curious, what part of the scripts are you modifying?

I have not got real involved with modifying the Dragons scripts. Allmight had Dragon 1.03.62 set up already awhile back when we were playing around with ideas, and sent it to me how he had it, since i took over the map works. Basicly, just a few simple changes to the Dragon/scripts/*.txt files is all i have done.
But as i said, it seems there are several things in the new version that are needing attention, so i dont think i will take the time with it right now.
As it is, the modifying of the Snow2Water.txt to make 3D map compatible took enough of my time from what i am doing. And i still have plenty of tiles to convert with WF just to complete the rest of the 3D/2D common tiles..
Although once this map is finished, and in a player enviornment, We plan to make a replacement for Ilish as well, so I am sure i will come back to the modifying and converting of the new version at least by that time

Btw, For some reason I cannot get WF64 to run on either of my PC's. I get an Illigal Op at startup. Is there anywhere that i could get some support on that program?

None that I know of, since I cannot get WF6.4 working either at home (WinXP Pro) or at work (WinNT 4.0) I'm wondering if it works at all anywhere.

Personally, I greatly prefer 1.05 to the old version of Dragon. With the old version, it was so slow that I had to run it on the 1 GHz computer and go away for 10 mins while it built the map.

With 1.05, I can run it on my 850 Mhz computer, and it takes about 2 minutes to make the map and the statics.

Of course, odds are that this has more to do with my adding 256 MB of RAM (now 320, was 64, the 1 GHz computer has 256 MB) to this computer than with any change to Dragon.

... And on the subject of WF 6.4, I just downloaded it from http://www.uox3.org/files/wf64.zip , extracted it to c:\wf64, and ran WorldForge.exe. It loaded just fine, and already knows where the statics files that I've been working on are. (Don't ask me how, since they're not in the UO folder)

Okay, now I've clicked the map editor button, set the paths, and I can look at the map.
Seems to be working fine (excepting lag when I tried to type c:\, presumably because it checked everything in that folder to see if it was whatever.mul :P)

I am using Windows ME, 850 MHz (Athlon) computer, 320 MB RAM. It's a Hewlett-Packard computer, if that matters.

I recently (about two weeks ago) transfered my scripts from 1.03.62 to 1.05. I upgraded because i found a bug in Dragon and i thought it may be fixed in a later version (sadly not)

There doesn't seem to be any real difference with how the scripts are managed from what i can see. maptrans.txt is layout a tad differently (not hard to see or fix) but that is about it.

All I can say is that I am glad I upgraded. Dragon runs a hellovah lot quicker and everything seems to work.

Well, that post was awile back, ad i also had managed to convert my MapTrans.txt to the palette i use, and all is great now.
As far as WorldForge 6.4, I have not been able to use it at all. I have 2 systems here, and neither one of them will run it. I get an Illigal Op as soon as i run the WF.exe So, i an stuck with the old one. And sad too, because of all the new ways to use the Map Edit with WF 6.4.
