Hi

I created a simple bmp map file contains land, sea, and forest, and used the file on dragon and start to create a mul file. But once it started, it popped up a access violation error message. Do I do something wrong? coz i had followed the steps in the making map tutorial and the bmp i created is very simple. Anyone had that problem before.

That is a strange error, I've never had that problem before.

Your not trying to run any other programs at the same time your compiling the map with Dragon are you?

It does if your trying to read the same files your trying to write too.

If your running a program that allows you to read the map mul files at the same time that your trying to compile to the same file names or running an EMU on the same computer that your compiling too then yes it would cause a sharing violation.

its also smart to not run any other apps as dragon will generally compile faster

access error? I am thinking this is a write protect access error? Try creating your map into a folder other than your UO folder, if that is the case. *shrugs* not sure otherwise

I dont copy the map0.mul anywhere except into the UO folder after its done being created. Dragon 'Creates" the map so there is no need to put the map in any folder.

Just direct Dragon where you would like the map created and hit the compile button, its that simple.

As for the version I use? Dragon 9+plus which can be found in the down load section on this site.
