:(
I'm sorry, I know that it's a common problem, but I'm not able to see maps. I have the 3 .mul of fellucca, but if i past them on the original or I change the root in the scipts/misc/datapath anything happens.
I always see Felucca, not my new world.
What I do wrong?

Are you changing the files in the server or the client or both? If you change the server files then the client can not see them unless it is patched with the same changes, if the files are on the client end and not on the server side then the server will not even know anything has changed, if it is both then you have a different problem.

Why are you changing the path to your muls? You should only have to drop them in the folder and play, there shouldnt be any editing of file paths. That might be your whole problem.

yes I tried this way, but nothing happens. There's always Fellucca. I tried to change paths as a 3d in this forum said.
But if I frop them in the folder, there's felucca, not my world.

You are also aware that you will "start" in Fel by default right? You can simply take the moongate to the other maps to see if one is yours, if so then you simply need to edit the RUNUO files to start you out in Trammel rather than Fel.

The instructions on how to edit the starting locations are in the forums at RUNUO.com

Well then the only thing left would be the pathnames. It sounds like your not over writing the correct files in the correct fashion.

If your changing the path names that tells me something is wrong. You should never have to change the pathnames unless your setting up your server to freeze and melt statics in RUNUO with the client sharing the same files.

Your best bet would be to look through your UO folder and see if the files are actually over written or if they are duplicates. If there is not then you need to make sure that your compile map is "NOT" directed to overwrite the original maps. You should create a seperate map0.mul then simply drop it into the UO folder used by the server and the client and "overwrite".

As Syd pointed out you must also remove the diff files by either creating blanks or by deleting the files all together depending on the EMU that you use.

There is a very serious issue with your file system if dragging and dropping files makes them corrupt for you. Dragging and dropping is usually faster if you do not care about having two copies, because the system just has to change the pointer in the file lookup table, whereas when you copy and paste, it has to make a copy of all the contents of the file in the new location. Therefore, if dragging and dropping does not work, it is likely an issue creeping up through your file system, likely your indexing service.

NTFS is faster in the way it looks up file names because of a system of ID numbers (basically), and these can become corrupt with a default installation of XP Pro (it happened to me), and really flubs things up over time, but it is easily fixed ? you just have to disable indexing (I think a property available by going to the drive properties) and then re-enable it after disabling the service that corrupted it (an obscure thing that 99.9% of people never use, but I forget the name of it). If some of your shortcuts stop working or if programs start to freak out, this is likely the cause.

I've used XP Pro for the last 3 years, not a problem dragging and dropping. In any case the copy/paste will work as well if your names are the same.
