Assuming ?Ultima Online? is meant by ?Ultima?, then they are in the Ultima Online program directory; ?Ultima Online 2D? or ?Ultima Online 3D? being the most common names, depending on which client(s) you use. Most commonly in the ?Program Files? directory (which, in turn, is usually on the primary hard disk drive), it is possible to find one or both of these directories. Many of the older versions of Ultima Online installed in other directories, such as ?Ultima Online? in ?Program Files? or ?Ultima Online? in the root of the primary hard disk drive. Depending on how Ultima Online was installed, it may be in any of these locations or somewhere else, if specified.
Assuming only the map-related files are at question, there should be any number of ?map*.mul?, ?static*.mul?, ?staidx*.mul?, and ?mapdif*.mul? files in the aforementioned directory. Depending on the custom map in question, any or all of these may be replaced, in which case it is recommended to make a backup of the affected files for easy restoration later. Once backups are made, or if none is required, the files need only be replaced by other valid ones to use a custom map.
