 Post subject: New Map Help Please

Hi, I have just gotten a custom map with the Statics0.mul, Stadix0.mul, and Map0.mul files. I also still play on an OSI shard at times as do the people that play on my shard. I was told to put in my Map I would need to get rid of some dif files, but I have found out that all I need to do is make a StartupSettings.cs with TileMatrixPatch set to False. Also, I read that I can change the DataPath.cs to look somewhere else for the mul's, is this right? Can I keep my regular mul's in my UO folder and have my runuo shard look elsewhere for my custom map mul's? Also, I was told that I would need to have all the people that play on my shard replace their 3 mul files with the ones for my custom map, is this true? I wasnt sure if it was possible to just place them in a .rar patch that will allow them to be able to see my map but also be able to play on OSI shards. Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

Yeah you can point the path in DataPath.cs to anywhere you have stored the muls you want RunUO to load them from. It's generally a good idea to use seperate files than the ones in your client folder anyway.

The easiest way (to my knowledge) to play on multiple servers without permanenly changing anything is using UOGateway. There should be some tutorials on the site that will get you setup.

Thank you very much for the help on this issue. Ive got it working pretty good now. Now just to figure out how to someday have an automap for the players.
