Hi,

I just created my own map and i found the tutorials here in the forum very useful.
I used dragon and draonsp to create my mul and statics/staidx files. I worked great for most of the areas, but in some locations i've got "land spots" ingame where (according to my drawings on the bmp) water should be.
In another area i painted a mountain (rocks) but ingame i can find a big hole with water.

Is there anything i forgot? Or anything i did wrong?

another thing: is there a working way to download the map making tutorial as a pdf?

did you install the latest mod? perhaps the colortable is off and this is why some areas are messed up...

It could also be the level of detail at which your painting your terrain.

If your using a 300pixel brush to cover broad areas then finer brushes to put the detail in then spots like that can happen very easily. Go over your map at a zoom setting that lets you see the 20-50 pixel brushes as almost full screen, this will allow you to see all those little problem pixels that the brush may have missed.

@Dev Viperrious - there are no pixel on the bmp file. I check that at first.

@Lynxx - I used Dragon mod9, but the colors in photoshop are made for an older version of dragon. (colormap_ger.bmp is my reverence for the colors)

All "colors - tile/level" connections are correct.

For me it looks like there are some "old (original) datas" in some of the mul or static files. Is that possible?

Just to be sure, i copied the old Origin map0, staidx and statics into my UO folder. And see: The tiles i can see ingame on my map (the wrong, unwanted ones) look exactly the same like the orgininal Origin tiles at that position.

So, how can i get rid of them?

to clear the area in the map0.mul file and i uses multool to clear static and staidx. neither of those actions helped.

here is an image of the point i'm speeking of.

Image

there are no waves and no transitions between grass/ water or dirt/water.
Right now, i'm out of ideas. if some of you can help me with that i'ld really appreciate that.
