Ok, here's the gist of it. I want to make a few custom boats for different groups. Essentially I want them to have a different crest or image on the sail.

Now I know I can simply build each one, and extract it as a multi, but is there -any- other way I can simply tell RunUO to place a different mast graphic on the multi, and just create additional boat files ie a modified SmallBoat.cs to implement a different mast graphic?

Unfortunatly you cant tell RunUO to change any graphics on the multi's at all. The multi's are like a statics in the Statics0.mul, unless you change them in the Multi file, they are as they are.
However, there are a few programs that you can use to make changes or add new multis to the multi.mul / multi.idx files, but if you have never used these, or attempted to use them, they can be very complicated to get the hang of.
Fotunatly RunUO though, is prety damn easy to (if you are at least capible of understanding some C# code) add new multis to scripts.

hehe, no I know you can't change bits of the multis. I was wondering if I could just tell the file that calls the multi, to place a mast image at position 0100 for south boats, etc. in a similar way that it places the tillerman and hold.

At any rate, I ended up simply making new muls using the [extract command and the Orb Template Manager. Had a few bugs, like having to adjust the X plane in the file so the boat lined up with the hold and all. ;) Thankfully I'm somewhat experienced with messing with the mul files.

Thanks for the reply though!
