.....after having added floor tiles for buildings in WF.

Here's my situation. I've placed floor tiles for bldgs in a couple of "city" areas. Then, after doing this, my son pointed out an error in a large area of mountain/desert terrain that I had intended to create differently.

If I rerun my bmp to map0 in Dragon, those static tiles I placed with WF get wiped, for some reason..even though I selected "no" when DragonSP asked if I wanted to clear existing statics.

Am I doing something wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as replacing all those city bldg tiles becomes tedious, at best. :)

Thanks,

CMS

As a further explaination, working in WorldForge is working with the map0, the same file that Dragon works with. DragonSP works with the statics, which is not the same.

As Majere said, you'll need to backup the areas you want to save before you re-run Dragon, since it is basically an all or nothing program for the map0.

......lol......drugged to the gills for a headache yesterday. :)

Anyway, do you mean a backup of the statics0 and staidx0 files? Then replace them with these backups after I've rerun the map?

The only way I know to 'copy' one area from one map to another is to use UOCopy. Is that what you're referring to? Or is there a new feature in WF that I'm not aware of? (it's been over a year, close to two, since I've used these programs)

Thanks for your responses and future help. :)

No, forgot about the statics at this point. You're not that far.

In WorldForge 6.4, in the MapEdit, under advanced, you can copy and paste portions of the map to/from other maps (and even with in the same map). That's where you need to look. You can use UOCopy to copy a whole map, but you really only care about the areas you've tweaked so far.
