Yeah, there unfortunately is no way around it if you want to have the seperate shallow/deep water. I think it looks kinda cool though so it didn't bother me overly much. There are a few other flaws that I put in "by design" kinda in that to fix some things I had to accept breaking others. Most notable besides above is if you stand on the SE coasts they are sunken down a bit, and the visual isn't the greatest. I had to do that for 1 particular corner piece of wave statics that otherwise is covered by the land.

I dunno about fishing from land, but I do know that RunUO and POL do take some calcs off which type of water it is. I remember POL used to seperate the kind of monster spawns on water by it. There is also what you can fish up I think. I forget what else. So partly it was for that. Partly to be more authentic. I've always felt the Britania map was the most well done and natural feeling (yeah, I know it's a stretch), everything else was downhill from there. While I like the new buildings and some of the areas of the newer maps, I think the technique got worse with each incarnation. So whenever possible I look to emulate the Britania map in technique for original maps.

Why did I cannt download the Mod 10??? ftp://ftp.ldtek.com/uostuff/dragon, I can not open this link, and It made my IE shut down when i try to click this link. I really like what you have done. Is there any other way to get this??

Arghhh, I had to change firewalls. I temporarily have a Linksys router in place, something is not configured right. I set it up to allow ftp access but it seems to be missing something.

Well you've all had a chance to play around some with what's done so far (which is really the core of the mod). Feedback? Suggestions?

I haven't done anything new the last week really, I have renewed my addiction to Acheron's Call. I really needed a break, did nothing but work on Dragon for 3 weeks straight. I will get it done eventually.

shall i try to fill in the description of the other colors in the colortable.png? it will defintely be a bit of a mess, because there are so many different kinds of terrains and tiles, but i could do it if anybody wants me to.

It would probably be helpful Mat, and I'm sure a lot of people would be happy if you did (why they can't bother to post is another matter).

Currently I have finished reformatting all the old map scripts. I still have a few corner transitions to fix in a few of them (notably grass2forest, dirt2cobble) and the swamp transitions are all messed up again, I lost my good copy. Grassbump is a mess too.

I have to do a few new ones, such as brick, sandstone, wood transitions. As well as star and lava (they were never done right), then I am done with the map. Will be just the statics between trans to do, which aren't a lot.

probably a photoshop action will be made to convert the colors form mod 9(+) to mod10 if not, you can just select the color in your map with the magic wand tool and fill it withnthe new color.

you can get mod 10 on stormcrows ftp, which was linked many times here, but mod 10 is not finished yet.

@broken: The lava tile problem seems to be clientside, Dian can tell you more i think :)

But... what problem do you have with shores? Have you run dragon sp ?

There are a couple scripts in there that have to be fixed on the corners but for the most part that is the final on the map scripts. Statics are still pending. I haven't been working on it lately due to a general lack of interest and a renewed AC addiction. I will get back and finish it eventually.

Well I fixed a bunch of errors. Some scripts I went crosseyed when I was converting originally and some were just bad to begin with. It is a pain in the ass to change a script from X2Y to Y2X but I felt it was necessary to change the order on a lot of them to make things smoother.

A few discoverys are going to necessitate either some minor changes to the maptrans/colortable or dropping a few features, namely the cave entrances. A correction I put in to make them work better unfortunately makes changes to ALL the black and no-draw on the map. So it is either back to a seperate color for black/black cave/no-draw/no-draw cave or the scripts are left not working so great (they will never work perfect either).

I've started putting statics between back in and began updating the star and fixing the lava transitions. Still have to work on the new ones.

Otherwise this mod is drawing near to completion if I can just restrain myself from trying to add new things/make more major changes (I've got a Mod11 started already)

So the plan is to finish and release Mod10. Maybe get some feedback from you people. Hopefully find anything that needs fixing and get working on my ideas for Mod11 (which is going to be an advanced mod with multiple colortables and maptrans files).

I'll be out of town for a week, leaving tomorrow morning. The mod is about done. A few fixes and some cleaning up. I'm probably not going to have a computer or internet access for the week, depends if the wife lets me take a laptop.
