I know this is not the place to ask this but i see no WorldForge website or form :( so here goes. I have a custom map and wanted to add the solen hive (Thanks again Ryandor) to my map, got it in and looks good. But there is water in the hive in spot (part of a quest) I want to retain the water but, in the transfer it romoved all the edge water tiles. well i found the tiles in InsideUO (Love that proggie) they are 6045 thru 6066 in dec.
So i went into the WF6.4 Directory and found the file Tilesid.lst and added the Hex like it wants 179D thru 17B2 in the format it wanted. but when i load up WorldForge it shows the numbers but the tiles graphic representation is white, and if i use the tile its a black square. is there a way to add tiles? did i do it right?( if i did it should work right...LoL) did i edit the right file? and why are taxs so high and my wages so low and who used the last of the tp and didnt put more on the roll and CLOSE THE DOOR BEHIND YOU...... oh um ya anyway, help, and sorry if this is the wrong place for this post ;)

No, this is the right place to post.. Map Making help is pretty much everything related to making maps (mostly at least).

Anyway.. those water edge tiles are not part of the map. They are statics, and exist in the statics file. This is why when you looked in WorldForge you didn't see them. Use InsideUO to see the difference between the landscape (map) tiles and the statics tiles (Artwork button).

I'm not sure if the merge program does the diff files for the statics (stadif0.mul, etc), but if it does, then you can use UOCopy to get those as well. This would be the "copy statics" part of it. This will create a wsc file that contains the water coast tiles and anything else not actually part of the map. You'll then need to freeze this file into your statics to be able to see them (Or you can import them into your world file, but that is dependent on the server you're using).
If the merge program cannot do the statics, then you'll have to manually add those statics tiles as items in game, then freeze them.

As for the rest of the questions, they don't belong in this forum.

Thanks, and yes it did copy them into the *.wsc file. im running RunUO so i can add them with the command [add static 6066 then place it. but my problem is at this point. the floor tiles are at 0 but when i place the water edge tiles down they seem to look like they are at 0.5 if i move them up there way to high and if i move them down they disappear :( im thinking freeze them after i place them??? ( ya i know what you didnt freeze them) not yet no, but that was my next try. was just hopeing to be able to modify WF to make it abit faster :) i hate all that typing. thanks again for your help.

With the exception of freezing and melting (with no preview or anything), WorldForge doesn't really work with statics. Sounds like you've got a handle on it, since you're using RunUO.
To compare, you could load the old map and do a props on the water tiles to see where they are supposed to be, then go into your new map and do the same thing to check for correct placement.

If you're seeing a thin line below the water edge tiles, it's not due to a height problem. Just place a solid water tile below the edge one to cover it up.
