Hi, I used an "old" trick that I figured out modding Baldur`s Gate a few years ago.

- Extract the BMP-File using InsideUO
- open it in MS Paint
- choose "Edit/Mark all"
- choose "Edit/Copy to..."
- name a new BMP File and save it

The resulting file in orignal map-size can be openend in Photoshop or any other image editing tool to place changes, editited areas or totally new elements correctly on the OSI maps.

Hope this might help a few people... :)

This is good for a reference, but you can't use that resulting bmp for Dragon unless you do some serious editing.

Yes, but for someone how want`s to use the orinigal shapes or just add something to the existing map it`s quite usefull to have it as layer in Photoshop. :)

It would be a nice theory if that worked, but it doesn't even come close.

It would take more effort to add one tile to the map in dragon than it would be to just recreate an entire map.

Besides, that's kind of obvious dude. You act like it's an enlightening idea, but in all reality, it's like, "DUH"...

I mean, that?s like me pointing out that ?hey, if you own a car, and need gas, guess what I found out?! You can go to a gas station!!!? ? durh.

Well, I read a couple of threads where people wanted to know exactely this and I didn`t find something explaining it... so I posted a way for it.

Isn?t this what this board is for?

What`s your problem?
If you knew this already... congrats, you are a very good image editor with background knowledge of data formats and photoshop... guess what... others are not.
