Is Dragon's static placing: based on the ground tile placed, or the color that is used for the BMP?

I believe it's the color used.

Technically, since the color you use determines the land tile, then the static placement is based on both

Good, so I could have multiple sand-terrain-placing scripts with differing colors, and each would have a different static placement. So I could have beaches, and deserts, each with different statics? Good good..

No you are correct, I use for example, 2 sets of colors on one dragon setup i have ( i have several different dragon setups, with different scripts, for different areas ) that will place snow with just some misc little rocks or whatnot, and the other color set that will place the trees i want, so i can easily define where the trees will be on my ice land areas
