Other program is using map0.mul file that u want to edit... Maybe your sphere is running or something like this...

Download this -> http://www.ryandor.com/file/pafiledb.ph ... file&id=11 It is very helpful tut. how to make cave and cave entrance. I had problems with it too, but after I read this tut. everything is ok ;)

In short: draw a cave with cave floor 0 (or higher), than outline it with black 0 (or higer, depend on a cave floor), patch map, with world forge make an entrance and draw mountain over a cave area (random mountain, z level depend on ambient mount.), than go to game and put a cave floor tiles over the entrance and freez it... now your cave should be ok...

So, if u did the painting right u have problem with world forge, am I right?
There are only two importants steps that u have to do in WF. First, paint an entrance (usually it consist of 3 lines of tiles, first that bear on grass [snow,... etc.] consisting of "left clear" border of cave entrance black tile with equal z level like a border and right border, second line is like the first, but with different z level and final line with two hooked borders and one clear downward border). And than u have to take a slant at z levels of ambient mountain, select "random mountain" fill in a right z level and paint mountain over the whole cave. And it is all that u have to do in WF.
Than u have to log in and from the cave put a cave tiles over the entrance. When u do this u should have foolproof entrance and nice looking cave...

I hope it will help u... When u will have still problems, try to post some screens...

1. Close all programs that use the map or statics.mul files.

2. Make sure all your directories are correctly added in.. Both on the Main World Forge, and the Map Edit page.
(c:/Program files/Ultima Online 2d/Map0.mul etc. )

3. Enter the coords. to the area of your mountain. (best to enter the entrance, and then move to where you want to start, to know best where you are.

I am able to run World Forge with InsideUO up with no trouble. In wich case i can make any amount of tile changes via Map Edit on WF, and it makes the changes simutaniously with InsideUO. Others are not able to do this, Dont know why i can. I can also leave a POL core running, while making MapEdit changes, and can Melt/Freeze statics as well (with POL core and InsideUO runing) Although, Not with a Client runing.

Believe it or not, *shrugs* But you might want to try leaving InsideUO runing with the map Open on it.. Its a great way to view your changes as you make them on the map.

If further trouble with World Forge, Might help to post what Version of it you are using as well.
