Granted I don't think it's causing the freeze/shut down problem, but if you are using Dragon 1.05 it doesn't work 100% with my mod. If you're using the Dragon that came with the mod (1.03.62 in mod 9) then I've really not got a clue :(
How much ram? cpu speed? HD space? Maybe something in there is causing it?
Sorry I'm not very helpful on this one.

I thought of another possiblilty (after reading your previous post).
There might be a problem with a corrupt map. Delete the map you are using for the source for Dragon, do a defrag on the HD, and recopy a fresh map (preferably from a UO CD, unchecking read only) for Dragon to use. I'm really not sure if this will work, but it's worth a shot.
Also, if you have a second HD, try running Dragon (and the map source) off that HD.

I'm thinking you are experiencing a form of the odd bug that gets some people (and I've gotten and fixed with a HD wipe and OS reinstallation).

Thanks for replying. Yea that's all the reasons that I came up with too.. I'm trying it from a fresh star on a different computer .. formatted two days ago. truely a new start. one quick question. with dragon mod 9 it comes with two different palletes which one should I use? I can't remember what they are called but one has more colors than the other. that's all I can remember.
thanks for your help.

there's actually 3 colortables. the mod8 color table slipped in by accident.
Pick either one that has mod9. They are the same.

WOOTERS! I found out why it wasn't working.. well almost :P my suspission (damn I whish forums had spell check :P ) the files that weren't working were saveing for somereason to a size of 73,729 kb instead of 24,578kb in windows. The map sizes are exactly the same in width and length but for some reason they are saving as bigger files.. I dunno why. but also they have black lines around all the colors. when they save to 24,578kb they are chrisp colors w/o black lines around them. I really don't know what I'm talking about, but I'll let you know if it works out :P wish me luck! and thanks for all your help

Possibly, you are saving in 16 or 24 bit BMP format instead of 256 color format, that would account for the size difference as well as the dragon file processing problem.

my thoughts, hope it helps,
