Well, after looking about the net, I think you folks are the ones to ask. :D

First let me introduce myself.
I am the legofreak, a builder of castles and fantasy items, aided by my son legofreak jr.
Together we create some pretty dang cool stuff. My son and I like to customize our Lego folks, and have made some interesting people. Right now my son's side of our table has a small mountain fortress with a hot lava moat. His side consists of all the cool ones, orcs, scorpion knights, cobra commander... you name it.
Well to go with the hot lava, we decided on some fire golems which will be my first attempt at water slide decals. (the irony is staggering i know. :D water decals, fire golem...)
anyways.
I have been working with templates for the arms, legs and head, (and here comes the reason for bugging you fine people)... but I need a good hot lava texture!

I saw some mini tiles here that seemed to have a very nice texture of lava, black and crispy sort of on top, and nice bright orange along the edges. I need something like that, but a bit bigger so I can do the detail, say about two to three inches across?

Can you folks help me out here? maybe point me in the right direction?
It'd sure mean a lot to me and my boyo. :D

thanks in advance for whatever help you can give, and sometime when i get the pics online I'll post the maps I have painted using watercolors. :D

edited in - btw - I forgot to mention I ALWAYS give credit where credit is due. Anthony Sava of Classic-castle.com came up with the torso templates I am using, and the guys at Red Bean studios are totally helping me with the waterslide decals.

Lynxx is a pretty cool dude as I am sure you all know. he tried several times to contact me, and I, him, but we just kept missing each other.
I ended up drawing what I needed in photoshop, a combination of textures, and effects, so I am nearly ready to print. If you are interested in the final effect you can see it
here.

Thanks again Lynxx - I really appreciate the effort, even if we never actually got to work on it. If you're ever in the neighborhood of CCchat again drop by.

Legofreak!
:D

Legos are awesome!

I could never get enough of them when I was a kid?
