When the light switch in the entryway that is supposed to turn on the above light actually opens the garage door. When the light switch in the garage turns on the fan in the living room. When you turn off the circuit breaker labeled ?Bathroom,? the fridge (in the kitchen), the TV (in the living room), a lamp in the bedroom, and a radio in the dining room, all lose power, but everything else (including everything in the bathroom) remains powered. When starting a washing machine causes all the lights in the house to go off and remain off permanently (regardless of switching them on and off) until the heater comes on as well. When you cannot have the satellite receiver and the computer (in different rooms) on at the same time. ? *sigh* I am so glad I moved out of my father?s house? |

Hehe! This is a perfect example of the house I bought, when the washing machine kicked on it would blow the front porch light. ![]() Dev |

Years ago when I lived in Norfolk, VA I rented a house that was "rewired" about 10 years prior. The circuit breaker box was outside, with a "custom" cover (read piece of tin bent over/around it) to prevent rain hitting it. One breaker would switch the entire upstairs, another would switch the bathroom downstairs, and the bedroom above it, another would switch the kitchen and the same bedroom upstairs, and two other breakers acted like a 3-way switch for the living room. I'm glad I moved out of there. I was talking to a friend a few months later and found out it burned down. Cause? Yes, electrical fire. -Ryandor |

I would not be surprised if my father?s house caught fire, though it is so small and easy to get out of that he would probably be fine. It is mostly concrete, anyway. |
