*sigh* slashdot.org One of the most popular internet news sites there is? Renowned for its ?slashdot effect? when they feature a story, the number of visits it generates for the featured site usually crashes their (the featured site?s) server (million+ visits). They specialize in stuff that nerds might care about, and there are a LOT of nerds. The same company (which started out as a single bored guy) owns SourceForge, which I hope you have heard of! If not, they are host to thousands and thousands of open-source projects, making them the biggest collection OSS on the web. Now ya know! |

It is a web site that hosts open source software (OSS) projects. Thousands and thousands of them, all free. They are home to most (if not all) open source emulators, such as UOX. Most such projects have a primary web site elsewhere, but use SourceForge for their CVS (concurrent versioning system), which allows many people to work on the same code at the same time easily. |
