I have a question for anyone using UOL. Has anyone converted a dragon mod 11 map yet? Ive been doing it for about 2 hours and its at LOC:250000(well around that) but when i hit the convert button it said. Arithmetic overflow or something of that sort. Does anyone know whats up with it? |

It takes a VERY long time. Like half a day or more depending on your system. There are 25165824 locations to be done for map0 (6144x4096). DKnight used my Mod 11 OSI map for initial testing. You can ignore that error. I don't know what is causing it, but the program still goes ahead and runs after you click ok. |

We are talking an EXTREME amount of time. On my 3ghz p4 with 1gb of ddr400 at 2-2-2 memory timings (good stuff) I got about 150,000 pixels done while I was asleep (about 8 hours) On my dual athlon 2000+ MP system with 1gig of ddr266 it took a full day to do 100,000 pixels. for fun, let's do some math. long decibels kept for fun we have 25,165,824 pixels to process 150,000 pixels / 8 hours = 18,750 pixels/hour 25,165,824 pixels / 18,750 pixels/hour = 1342.17728 hours 1342.17728 hours / 24 hours = 55.92405333... days So on my nicer computer, it would take close to 2 months. Now on my slower machine I noticed the process became even slower as time went on. So who knows. I might also add that the dual processor machine heated the upstairs of my house quite nicely for the 3 days it was running. UOL really warming up the holidays for me. Anyone have data for machines with more ram or otherwise higher specs. |

Why is it so slow? Pretty simple formats to convert! What language is it written in? Converting a map should only take a few minutes on an average machine (1Ghz with 256MB RAM, as an example). |
