i logged onto wtfman.com's server, in por yelm to see "there are 814 users online" holy shit....

its unreal, not like a player run server at all...
just wondering who else here plays?

You're right about macroing but if youlook at their irc chat channel...its flooding messages!
Mostly there somtihng like 300 players in the irc chat room...and I bet not everybody who plays that game is on the irc channel to at the same time so that give you a small idea how much players there REALY playing and that it are no bots, no horses sucks but the enormous player amount makes everything good

And theres almost no lag

I don't see what the big deal is. Who cares if they have 814 users logged in at once? It's just people who visit wtfman.com and thought it would be cool to play UO like it used to be again.

i think its the idea that novus opiate had to break up into 2 shards because sphereserver sucked alot of balls and couldn't handle more than 300 players. runuo is the shit. its also the idea that a server is so popular after only two weeks of being open, they are breaking all previous records by lots. btw, im taking advantage of macroing (even tho its normally against the way i play) but im really busy in life yet still want to play and have fun, who cares. GM eval int here i come. Not everybody will always be macroing. people are in a hurry to get their characters up to a good level because they are afraid of getting pked (and they should be, by the company) In a month the server will be really active.

I wouldnt bet they have that many "real" players. Sure bots, but cmon 800+ people on a server at once with no lag? Imagine the cost for those shards that have 200 actual players mulitply that costs, and even then the rules they set up for the shard suck. Im a wtfman.com fan but they made a mistake on the ruleset for the shard. No horses? No Secures? the list of things taken out goes on.

It depends on your taste. It?s rather rash to say something ?sucks? just because you don?t agree with it ? especially considering how obvious it is that so many people do enjoy it. I myself would play on it if I had the time.

I apologize for the statement saying "it sucks" Let me say that again.... In my honest opinion I believe the shard sucks, because the ruleset they have choesn does not bring enjoyment for my style of game play. However others may find the shard fun.

However others may find the shard fun." horses didn't add anything to the game other than a way to get somewhere faster, as the IPY guys say "we r sorry you can't get to your favorite macro spot in 3 minutes instead of 5" They dont add anything of consequence to the gameplay. lockdowns and secures, hell people even want to get rid of the lockdowns. people enjoy having to be smart or get all their shit stolen, that way when you eventually get rich you know its not because you just had more time to invest than the next guy. sure people macro like crazy, but there are tons playing. lately ive been doing more exploring, getting pked everywhere, its great. when i die, its my fault, i dont blame the ruleset. there are Orc RPers, dungeon gank squads and whatever else, and its growing. people just needed some time to get their characters going, and it will be better next month for sure.

And they could've set the server in a warez/XDCC channel :p, or turned it into one.
