There is a place on the osi map near the town south of Brittain where you can run around a river and run into a secret tunnel, which leads to an enclosed valley. The tunnel looks completely hidden from the visible end (and the other end too, obviously) and it LOOKS like solid mountain, until you walk through it. I have tried to duplicate the effect, but nothing I do seems to work, I even tried unstaticing the area, but no effect, nor does it show anything particular on Worldforge. Would anyone have any idea how to duplicate this effect for secret tunnels on custom maps? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ![]() |

Yeah, there are a couple tiles that show as Mountain, but are actualy No-Draw tiles. The easiest way to do this is to use WorldForge Map Edit, and place them in the appropriate spot. I cant remmember the Tile Numbers atm, but If you go through them, and cross reference the tiles with InsideUO, you will find it. It shows as Mountain tile on WorldForge, and InsideUO shows clearly as a No-Draw... Or vise-versa.. been a good while since i did this. Or, simply go to that location on WF with the Brit map in, and check the tile that is used, probly the best way. The other, is Grass tile, like in the Hedge Maze, it shows as grass, but is actually No-Draw. same thing here.. |

Ooh, that makes sense. ANd not something that'd jump out at you either. I'll look for it. Thank you very much. ![]() |

Can you post your findings here? I'd be interested in this too. |

I think the tiles you are looking for are 0x1AF and 0x1BO. |

Yeah, thats right. ![]() Mountain: 01AF and 01B0 Grass: 01B1 and 01B2 They are clustered together with the two mountain pieces, two grass pieces and 3 no-draw tiles on the menu, with black tiles sort of separating them from the rest so they are fairly easy to spot. Not that you'd recognize them for anything special if you weren't looking for them. ![]() I tried the tunnel this afternoon and it works fine, though the transition between normal ground and walkable mountain has to be straight. (IE no transition tiles) Which could be a bit of a pain, but over all it works nicely. Thanks for the help! |

On the OSI map it looks like they hide the transition with grasses or trees, but you could try dressing it up with other statics, too. The only thing that is not "secret" about these secret tunnels is that the entrances display on the overhead map (and UOAM) as lighter tiles, so they can be spotted pretty easily. |
