Reading the tutorial it says to load dragon-mod.act as a custom palette. So where does dragon-mod9.act and dragon-mod9-labelled.aco come into play with this? Also when setting indexed color theres dither setting options of none, diffusion, pattern, or noise. If you choose diffusion it asks a percentage amount. What should I do with this? Set it to none right? |

The tutorial was written quite a while ago, so use the mod9.act as the custom pallete. You can use the -labelled.aco as a swatch palette for a color picker, instead of loading the mod9.bmp as a seperate file for picking your color. It not required though. As for dithering, you are correct in picking "none". -Ryandor |

-Ryandor I'm sorry but I don't quite understand what you said there. Should I use dragon-mod9-labelled.aco instead of dragon-mod9.act as the custom palette? Whats the difference between the two? What gets "labelled"? |

They are used for completely seperate things. the act file is the actual color table the aco file is a swatch file I've included a picture to help explain: 
When you use the swatch (aco file) you get a tooltip when you hover the eye dropper tool over it, hence the name "labelled" Some people prefer to use this instead of opening the colortable-mod9.bmp to pick the correct colors. -Ryandor |

Ah ok I get you. Is there a thing that tells you what the name of the current color your using is? I mean other then letting ones mouse hover over the swache till the little window pops up. |

Not directly. I use the colortable-mod9.bmp to select my color. It's easier for me since there's no delay in waiting for the pop-up tool-tip. But try both ways and see what you prefer. -Ryandor |

And with the new palette loaded some colors still have there traditional names. Which added alot to my confusion(I didnt notice the changed labels because i happen to put my mouse over the wrong colors) Are those unusable colors for map making or just unlabeled? Is there a way to remove them if unusable for map making? |

Off hand, since I don't use the labelled swatches very often I'm not sure where to change it, but I know it can be changed. I will be updating it soon though. -Ryandor |
