 Post subject: WorldForge Importing?
PostPosted: Fri Jun 20, 2003 5:42 pm
Greetings.

I am trying to import a bmp file into WorldForge's map editor (which I have been told from former shard admins does work), and I found the Import option under "File" in the map editor window, but nothing happens when I select it.

I am running WF 6.1 on XP with adequate speed and power on my computer. Any help would be appreciated. I cannot find any help anywhere on WorldForge, and the website tutorial is very thin on any useful information.

Uhmmmm......Last I know worldforge doesn't allow you to import bitmaps...I'm not positive I have 6.1...I use customworldforge 6.
You can import an items.wsc file the purpose of which is to make items static. You can also copy parts of 1 map0.mul to another.

If you want to convert a bitmap to a map you need to use Dragon or SMC.

There is a version that supposedly does this, but I don't know the version number, and I'm not sure of the details of how to do it.

I downloaded 6.4r1. Indeed there is an import bitmap button. Indeed it doesn't work. Looks like a lot of in progress features being added. New cave entrance maker is nice.
