Post subject:  Working on buildings while working on map

Hi all, got a simple question

Is it possible for my staff to work on buildings in the finished parts of my map while Im still working on the rest of the map? Or will it erase all of their stuff when I remake the map0.mul?

as long as the items remain in the sphere worldfile (if your using sphere) then no it will not erase the items

if you patch them static then re-run dragon SP you'll lose them.

Hope this helps

What do you mean by finished parts of your map?
And if you're using RunUO then there's a freeze command, right? So just make sure that your staff doesn't use the freeze command to freeze the items to your statics files. Instead just keep the houses and what not as items, and then once you're done with your map (though personally I'd advise to finish the map first and then work on world building) you can freeze the items.

You can static things and still work on the map. When you run dragonsp and it asks if you want to clear statics, say no. To prevent it from static'ing trees and such where they're already located (since you don't clear them out first) you can use that DragonSCPCleaner that Iz made. Link is on these forums somewhere, post made by me. We work on building and the map simultaneously on Tragena, it's easier that way for us. We can change our minds about statics or map sections over and over and not have to start over again from scratch.
