I'm sorry if this has been asked and I missed it, but I'd still like to try my luck getting an answer. Could someone give me step by step instructions on how to build buildings into a ready, new terrain map, thus creating cities. Is the import/exportstatics thing the only option? and if it is could someone clarify how exactly it's done, I always seem to fuckup something doing it. Why hasn't anyone made a GUI tool for placing multi statics and/or creating them? much *hugs* to anyone who'll answer ![]() |

It really all depends on what Emu you're useing (i.e. UOXC, UOX3, Sphere, RunUO, ect.). For each emu there are different GM tools (normaly also have building tools). And you're best to find out how to do all of this at the emu's forums. And you'll also need Worldforge. Though I personaly think it's easiest to world build with UOXC because you don't have to do any exporting of files to change them to items.wcs (which is what worldforge reads to change items to statics). But that's just me. Here's links to the *main emu's forums. UOX Classic's forums UOX3's forums Sphere's forums Sphere's other forums (not sure if they are one in the same) RunUO's forums And each emu's tools should be able to be found in their downloads section. Worldforge is can be found in Ryandor's downloads. Ryandor's Downloads *Main meaning the emu's I know most about |

I'm using POL 093, and i haven't found any building tools for it, apart from hand of dundee etc which are not of use right now, I do have worldforge and i understand the multis need to be frozen once they are in place, it's the _placing_ of them that i'm confused about. |

There's not a whole lot of map building options for POL that I know of. One of the alternatives I would do is to set up a UOX server and build your world with that. Many more tools available to worldbiuld that way. Then, once done, you can put it into a POL server for the scripting and finishing touches. -Ryandor |

First, POL 93 was not built for a Live shard, It was made to make a transition from the POL 092, to the newer release of POL 094.... But then, I left the entire POL scene over a year ago, when POL 095 was still being ( still.. I think it is still being) worked on, for a realese... At any rate.. I have a good lot of stuff for POL, and world building, And, no matter what anyone else says, I think POL is an extremly great emu for building on. Untill I had everything I needed scripted into RunUO, I built on POL, and scripted for my RunUO server.. So if you want a very good Import/Export script, or whatever for POL, let me know. |

I personally like UOXC for building on. With UOXBox, InsideUO, Accomplice, Shardace, Xuri's Worldbuilder, there's just lots of programs that you could use depending on what you like. I'm an old style builder, I like InsideUO and Xuri's to build roofs and fix lighting. ![]() Clay |

Ok here goes, I'll try and keep it simple. ![]() You will need a few programs; I recomend UOX3 V0.70.03 for your Development World EMU. I recomend Version 2.0 of the Client.exe file for UO You will need InsideUO (program gives you all the Hexcodes for Items) Ok, once you have UOX3 setup and running as the Dev Server. Login to the game with the 2.0 client. Run InsideUO When you are standing at the spot that you wish to make a house, use InsideUO and click on the Artwork look for the type of wall that you would like to use for the house, once you have found the wall type you want to use "single click on the image" you will see the section "Modle No." give a set of numbers similar to this; 77 (0x4D). The number you want is the 0x4D, so now return to the Client and type the following. 'add 00 4D [enter] then target the spot on the ground where you want the wall to appear and it will be placed there. now to speed the development process up a bit, you can use this statement to create an entire wall; 'tile 00 4D [enter] and then click on the ground at the starting spot of the wall, then click on the ending spot of the wall, and a wall will apear. Just keep locating the wall type you want and then use the 'TILE command to place it. Once you have all 4 walls built, just 'REMOVE 1 peice of the wall where you want a door. For windows, simply find the window type you want in INSIDEUO and get the Hex# (ie: 59 (0x3B) ) and in the client use 'SETID 00 3b [enter] then click on the peice of existing wall that you want to change to a window. Adding a Roof is alot more complicated but its done using the same kind of commands and methods. You would be best to check the Tutorial that was just recently posted on Ryandor's Site. I hope this helps, and I tried not to get too complicated. Bottom line is you just need to practice, and get used to the commands and how they work. Regards -Imprint |
