I know there are other topics about this but this is a bit different.

Is it true that a map created with Dragon must be 6144 x 4096 (in photoshop)? I wanted to create a map about 1/2 or 1/4 the size of the Britainia map. Is this possible? or should I just create a normal map and just make the play area (main island) extra small? I thought creating a small map would reduce lag but maybe im wrong :P

Any comments?

This is about the millionth time this has been asked. Kinda' one of those things, where, if you really need to ask, you shouldn't be making maps.

Kinda' like a mechanic who asks "which one is a wrench?"

The map size is hardcoded. Just make your play area limited.

To help with preventing lag, freeze as much of the houses, and decorations as you can. These are the statics files. Bigger first download for the player, but less lag having to load them from the server.

Just remember, if the player has to use it or pick it up (doors, torches, chests, etc) them don't freeze it.
