Post subject: | Error Message with Dragon |
I created a map.bmp, and converted it to map0.mul with Dragon. I also created a staidx0.mul and a statics0.mul with DragonSP. Before placing them in the UO directory, I ran InsideUO and I -could- view the map that way (while they were still in the Dragon directory). At this point I placed them in the UO directory, attempted to load my server which said FATAL:MUL file 'map0.mul' not found... And when I attempted to load my client.exe I got this message: UOReport::fatal: Failed to open 'map0.mul' from HD using a maximum install. Either this file is not readable, your system needs to be rebooted, or the file does not exist and you either need to reinstall or switch to a non-maximum install. NOW, before when I was using the dragon.bmp included in the Dragon.zip I couldn't even view the map on InsideUO. After I created my own, I could view it with InsideUO but I'm still getting the error messages. This is completely baffling to me. Anyone have any ideas? -Feilong |

I have one idea. And that is are you making the map the right size? I think it has to be something like 6144 x 4096. I'm not sure about this. But that is the only thing I can think of. If that isn't it... I have no clue ![]() |

Do you have both 2D and 3D installed, and maybe had not replaced the mul files in one of them, leaving them out of the folder? |

See that's the baffling thing. The map is 6144 x 4096, resolution 72 pixels per inch. It's the correct size. It's not even that complex, I just made a small island in the middle of an ocean to test it out. I made sure to include several layers, one for water, one for the island, and then another for trees. It would seem to me that if the map were corrupt, I wouldn't be able to view it with InsideUO while it was still in the Dragon directory. I have only one version of Ultima Online installed, (I'm using Ultima Online 2D found on the LBR disc), and it's in C:\Program Files\Ultima Online\. I thought it may be because I'm using Windows XP, or perhaps because I'm using UO2D: LBR, but I've spoken with several people who have created maps using the same OS and the same UO disc. I'm not -too- terribly knowledgable about such things, but I have a feeling that the problem is created after I've placed map0.mul, staidx0.mul, and statics0.mul in the UO directory. What do you guys think? -Feilong |
