I was hoping that someone on this forum could help me out, or at least point me in the right direction (who else to ask about this).... I recently downloaded WorldForge 6.4 from Xuri's site, but whenever I try to run it I get the following error:

"The exception unknown software exception (0x0eedfade) occurred in the application at location 0x77e8f142."

Clicking "ok" results in another error:

"Exception EOleSysError in module WorldForge.exe at 00098C55. Class not registered."

I am using Windows 2000, could that be the problem? I tried downloading WorldForge again and got the same error. I even found a copy of WorldForge 6.3 and tried using that, but got the same error.

If I can't get WorldForge to work, is there another program that I can use to freeze items to statics0.mul and staidx0.mul? I'd really like to get WorldForge working, though.

I'm in the same boat as you. I cannot get WorldForge working under WinXP at all, and I have no idea why. However, I can get previous versions to work ok.

The alternative is to use UOCopy and MulTool for your freezing/melting needs. These two tools are my primary method for working with statics. There's info on both in the FAQ forums.

If you do find anything out about WF 6.4, please let me know, as for direct editing of the map, (post-Dragon work) it cannot be beat.

if you do manage to get worldforge to work, be careful when ur using it for sphere. Its stubborn, but works. lol

hey ryandor, can you give me instructions on how todo the extra step for making WF 6.4 to work for sphere? dealing with the items.wsc, there is none at first, i dont know if its a file only with uox, or x3, but you said there was an extra step. i think someone said you have to export items to it if i want to freeze, but how do i do that when there is nonew in the first place? im stupid and keep forgetting, ill most likely jsut give up and use axis, but worldforge looks so easy1!!!

Normally, I'd tell you to ask on the Sphere forums, but since you are having "problems" to say the least, here's the command you need (to the best of my knowledge)

.export items.wsc 1 50

this will take an area 50 tiles in a circle around where you are standing and export it to a items.wsc file. The 1 tells it to not include npc's or spawn points (I think).

You'll have to play around with it, as I'm not positive on this command. I'm also not sure what version this is for, but my guess is .51a since this is taken from an old file of mine.
