Post subject: | Dragon Mod 9 getting stuck |
For some reason whenever I try to compile my 8-bit .bmp file into a map it gets stuck and freezes. I'll tell you what I'm sure of:
I do have a valid map0.mul file for it to write upon. The .bmp is at the proper resolution. Sphere is checked in the config. any suggestions? |

now I did it and it worked. Didnt make any changes. My success seems to be luck-based. |

One small point, you do not need to create a map0.mul files to write too. Dragon will create one from scratch for you automatically. Dev |

Are you using High Priority? I had the same problem, but when I stopped using that, it was solved... Made very little difference in compile time. |

I try both, it's random either way but it seems to get further with high-priority off. |

Sometimes the status bar will freeze when you are writing the map0.mul file but dont close the program just let it run. Eventually it will finish. ![]() Ive never had dragon freeze. |

The randomness may be caused by whatever else you have running in the background at the time. Try to close down as much as possible when running Dragon. As Defective said, oftimes it will hang up and stop responding but it is not crashed; just busy. Give it a few minutes. |

Yes, Dragon suffers from being single-threaded. It cannot simultaneously keep the GUI up-to-date while doing what it needs to do. |

Ok I did some testing and I figured that nothing can be done while dragon is running or it will just lock up. High priority must not be on. Also, you may not have photoshop with your map open inside of it while Dragon is trying to turn it into a map. Now it works flawlessly. Thanks much guys. |

Your version of mod 9 must have issues because I have always used "High Priority" and mine works without any errors every time. Dev |

What high priority does is make it not show progress indicators, which might make it appear to be stuck to some people. |
