Hi I got a question. How to add a new map file to UO so i can keep all other maps (Trammel, IIshera, Malas) untouched? I mean create a new one not overwrite the existing map. Thank you |

You cannot. If I understand your question correctly that is. If your trying to add an additional map to the game world while leaving all the others untouched then no your out of luck unless you wish to create a new EMU and Client. There are a couple of threads in the forums here that address this topic. Dev |

Hmm ok ![]() Once i got a new map, do i just run the uo server and test it? or Do i need to do extra coding in the RunUO to accomodate the new map? |

To play on the map that you create or download you simply drop it in your EMU folder (back up the one your replacing) and then start the EMU and log in to the game. 99% of all the maps I have seen replace the Tram/Fel map face which is map0.mul and the diff files that go with it. So if your going to log into the RUNUO EMU you will need to edit or remove certain files to ensure you get a clean map. The two major things to do will be remove the save files that come with RUNUO since everything will be in the wrong spot on the new map. Secondly you will need to remove all the Diff files that go with map0.mul or whichever one you are replacing. There are instructions for adding maps and changing all the files here in the various help forums (RUNUO would be a good start) and the RUNUO forums proper (Just dont ask any questions or you will get your head bit off, or they will at least try) Dev |
