Im used to using mod 9 of dragon, but I noticed that theres a mod 10 and a mod 11 out now. Since Im just getting back into the groove of things now I was curious as to what mod to use. (Mod 11 seems to be pretty buggy still) Any advice would help! Much thanks. |

What do you mean mod11 seems to be pretty buggy still? *looks for his beating stick* Mod 10 is pretty buggy still. I abandoned it halfway through and went on to mod 11 (because I completely revamped things for mod10 then revamped them again by the time it became 11). I don't recommend using it. I've only left it for download because someone might be interested in it for a look through to base their own work off (mostly for the color table). Mod 11 is pretty complete. It does everything the earlier versions do and then some. I am not satisfied with the static trans (dungeon walls, specials, etc) but I'd lost interest in working on it because I was porting everything over for UOL. I may go back and revisit it some time, but I'm not making any promises. The only real reason to still use mod9+ is if you don't want to do the WF work involved in finishing the coastlines from mod 11. There just isn't any way to perform the final step in Dragon. UOL uses pretty much the same script to create coasts except that since I was working directly with the programmer we were able to come up with a way to do a partial second pass transition. Now if only there were a way to get around the fact that the water must be 5 lower than the surrounding land for the transition to look right it would be a 100% OSI map0 coastline. Now another 1/3 of why I stopped working on it is because of the lack of useful feedback I got. Most of the people who cryed bug when it was investigated it was because they were doing something wrong (typically because they didn't follow directions). There were a very few people who did post some screenshots along with details of their problems that did turn out to be fixable issues, but for the most part I had to do all the troubleshooting myself. If you are aware of any bugs, do tell and I'll see what I can do. |
