First of all: Hello to everyone here!

I started making a custom map for my own UO shard. It will be a 1 to 1 Faerun map to be used for a D&D shard.
I have tryed both Gimp and MS Paint for creating a map. For the first time I tried making just one single island to get to know the procedure of making a map.

In Gimp I couldn't even load the color palete, so I tryed using MS Paint with the color pallete offered for download at ryandor's main site.
I also got latest Dragon from the official site (Dragon's official site that is :D ).
The map converted on theory ok. Well there were some styrange things that cought my eye:

1. Most of the .txt files (grass2snow, sand2 grass, etc) didn't do anything. I have drawn also some sand locations, some snow, grass and a forest.

2. The only work Dragon did was on X2water...there it stayed for a while.

After I loaded lonewolf and my game with the new map0.mul, all I got is a strange "field" of small snow/rock hills.
I saw there was a similar topic (somewhere at the end of the first or second forum page), but there I couldn't find any solution. It only sais that the problem has been solved and that MS Paint mixed up the colors.
I don't know where I could post such a huge image as the map itself or the ingame screenshot I took. If anyone can say where to post such images, I will post them asap.
But meanwhile if someone has any clues for me?

P.S.: From what I understand Dragon changes my water to snowy hills and most other colors to some strange looking mountains I can't climb. And this happens to the whole map.

Well at the end I mangaed to add the gimp pallette file and started making the map. After I did one of the islands there, I made it into a .mul file to see how it works. So here is what happened and my questions:

1. The transactions on the suther part of any landtype with different level are done as they should be. Problems exist with the nother parts. They usually are either ending in black or just end suddenly and no transaction is done. If the tiles have the same level there are no problems at all (ex.: grass 0 and mud 0). Same problems exist when making the mountains. I followed the pdf tutorial from the main site and did all the shrinking by 1 and refilling. This works actually, but if I want to make one huge cliff or something similar the transactions are done right only at the southern part of the cliff.

2. Since this is my first time making a custom map, I wanted to know the following: How do you add object on the landtype. I mean for the forest/jungle Dragon has made the terrain type, but there are no actuall trees. How can I add those, without having to use the add comand and put them tree by tree :)

3. There was a small problem with colors in gimp. Dragon seems to make both forest 0 and swamp 0 colors into a swamp.
