I have a little question. It maybe a quite obvious "yes", but I'll ask though. If I create a map with the attributes of Illshenar or Malas and then rename the file "Map2.mul" or "Map3.mul", will this work? I mean if I creake a custom map in order to replace Illshenar, can that be done? I suppose it will, but I don't know. What do you think? -Doc |

Yes, you can. Make a map using dragon, you can still even use mod 9 to do it. I don't know if Dragon 2 has the ability to make custom map sizes now, I know in the previous version it didn't work. Anyway, if you have to you can make a map with water and land the exact same size as Ilshenar or Malice, you can leave the rest of it black, and compile them and even run dragon SP on them. Next use Pucks world copy tool (is that correct? I don't remember the exact name of the program.) to copy the exact area from the map and export it to map2.mul or map3.mul Hope this helps. !*edit*! Okay, sorry it's punt's tool not puck's tool... (I think... I'm tired. I'll validate this tomorrow.) |

Uhmmm....what Nav didn't say, was the answer is actually NO, you cannot just create it as map0 and then rename it to map2 or map3. You CAN do it the way Naz said though. Last I saw DragonSP only worked for map0. Did Darus ever get around to releasing an updated version? UOL also has the capability to do any size map, and although I hear nothing but bitching and moaning from people about it, do bear in mind it is in early beta. Granted my opinion is biased, as I am involved in the development of it, but I have seen what it is capable of. Finally for worldcopying, I don't think Punt did one (I could be wrong). There is one by Darus (made Dragon) that works good and one by unknown that does not work good. I don't know of any others, but I am not the all-knowing, all-powerful Wizard of Oz either...... |

Dragon v2.0 has explicit support for Map2 and Map3. Search the boards for a link to the download -- I don't remember if it's directly linked at uocm.de or not. |

There is UOCopy from "Ingo" which does work though I've never used it. Then there is also "Map Extracter" which will copy one map to another allowing you to make any map you like, paste it into a normal map0 size format to run Dragon on then extract it back out into the sizes required by map2 and map3. This one also works though takes some practice, follow the instructions and it will work. I have copies of both but they are not downloadable from my new site. Dev |

However that was only Dragon last time I looked, not DragonSP. So what I was asking is if he updated DragonSP yet. |
