Post subject: | Some more questions: Swamp Transition and Grassbumps |
I've stripped down my old map to the bare basics, and am now rebuilding it the way I should have done it the first time (ie, properly). I've come to re-adding the swampy areas, and after doing some quick experiments, found some things to wonder about. First off, swamp transitions. The moss to swamp looks bloody great, I love it. Kudos to whomever did that (Stormcrow, I would assume). The swamp to forest and swamp to jungle, however, are giving me grief. They look good for the most part, but I can't acheive the same results I've seen in some of Stormcrows Mod11 screenshots. When I do it, the SE statics bordering the not-swamp terrain seem to be missing. I'd post a screenie if I chould. I think I may be missing a script? And second, grassbumps! I've been unable to find actual instructions on using them, only screenshots. I've tried several times, each time I end up with just a hill, no cliffs around it. I've tried a grassbump border that's equal in height to the grass inside, and a double grassbump border in which the outer border is one set lower then the inner one. Still get a cliffless hill. Can someone point me to instructions or a simple tutorial on using grassbumps in Mod11? *looks at clock* I hate working nights. On my days off, I'm still up until 7 or 8 in the morning, and any post I make won't get seen until everyone else wakes up. I'm counting on those in far different timezones ![]() |

Yeah moss was mine, thanks, because the moss/grass/swamp cycle was a real bitch to make (all greens on green) so I'm glad people like it. The swamp to forest and swamp to jungle you need to make the swamp at 0 and the forest or jungle at like 10. Still the scripts aren't perfect. Screenshots would help, although I will probably be fixing them up for UOL so I might find and fix the Dragon scripts as well. I made a complete overhaul of the grassbumps, they don't work at all the way they did in mod9. The way to use the grassbumps in mod11 is you paint an area of grassbump 0. This is just like primer. The only differences between it and normal grass are that you get a dark coast with grassbump and that grassbump transitions to grassbump. Next you paint your area inside that of grassbump 10 (or even 20 or 30). You can mix and match them together to produce similar to the screenshots you've seen. If you need a walkable path between levels you use regular grass or any other terrain. The grassbump only makes embankments between other layers of grassbump. |
