Post subject:  Water Confusion

Hello folks, I'm pretty new to the UO Emu community but I've really been enjoying your tutorials and assistance. I'm a little unclear about a couple of things, and I wondered if I could request some help?

First of all, in doing searches, I've frequently noticed references to Dragon 11 on this site, but the most current version available in the DL section seems to be version 9+. Is this the most current version? If not, is there a way I could get the most current version? Thanks very much for your help. ^_^

My other question is about water. In the tutorial and on the forums, it always seems to be recommended that we use -5 for the water. If I am doing a region of high plains (say, around 35 or 40) won't this give me a river that cuts really deeply into the land? Or does the -5 simply mean five less than the current ground level (30 water in 35 land, 35 water in 40 land, etc)? Also, is there a minimum width that a river should be to look right?

Thanks so much for your help and for this terrific program. I'm really enjoying creating my own map!

You can download mod11 from-

Generally speaking, water should be -5 from the surrounding terrain. You'll need to create a waterfall by hand where it meets up with water at a lower height (hmmmm....sounds like a scripting project). While other transitions need to be at least 2 tiles wide to complete properly, I've found that water needs to be 3. As far as a minimum width to look good, it's hard to say. Especially with good being a very subjective term.
