I have an in game gump that you can place all trees with, but you woundnt be able to freeze them with the RunUO [Freeze command
Reason behind this, I made the tool for the same reason you had in mind, but the way it places the items, is AddonComponent, not static items meant for freezing. You could however export the items I suppose, and freeze from the wsc file with world forge.
maybe I will dig it up.. I made it sometime around the beta 5 erra.. well before beta 10 anyways..

Why didnt you do that with dragon? You can make it place trees and change the density etc by editting the scripts and using different colors.

If I had the time, and will.. I wouldnt let Dragon place anything other than coast statics. Personally, I think dragon is terrible when it comes to placing items.

Alright, I think I'm ready to move on from 'newbie' status with dragon/SP and map making. I've tested out a few custom deals and not too shabby. My one problem is trees. I lay down forest like crazy, but the trees aren't there. Is there a different color for trees than for forest (Maybe forest is just terrain? Don't know. )

I would love to know the way to get trees with DragonSP. Maybe the default script is too scarce and I need to make it more dense?

All help appreciated, as always. :)

there must be trees in your forets if you did run dragonsp and selected the scripts on the left. you can make forests denser by editing items.txt

There must be, but there aren't. I have done it today alone more than 10 times. I use photoshop 7 to make the .bmp. I use dragon to create the map0.mul, and then dragonsp with 'ALL' selected. And yet I have no trees.
I'm not giving up, but I'm kind of stuck with the tree issue.

Aside from the tree issue, how do you make your map roll over so that you don't just stop at the edge?
