Question about coasts.

I have some problems with making coasts. The transitions between the land and the sea are screwed up. Is there anything that I can do to fix this problem?

Being a little more descriptive would be helpful. What exactly is "screwed up"? Additionally, if you can link to a screenshot, that would be most helpful.

Take a screen shot of the problem. A picture will say a thousand words.

Sorry about the vagueness of my problem. Here are just two examples of the problem I am facing:

This is what I mean. The transition is no correct. Any help would be most apreciative.
