I am wondering.... can someone demonstate how to the back of the mountain. I want mine to allow people to walk behind without disappearing behind them. I would be most grateful if you could.

Also... can some explain to me what a boulder is, i have tryed it ingame and they didn't turn out to well, should you use them on single tiles, grouped around mountains etc?

mountains should go from lines of 20, up to 60. There are examples given in the tutorial section I believe.

As for the boulders, there's an example in the colortable. It goes something like:

1 | 2
3 | 4

This is how you placed the numerically valued pixels. The pixel with 1 in the topleft corner, with 2 on the topright corner etc. You get my point, I hope.

Though I personally prefer not to use boulders in maps. I dont advise it unless you're making something special. There are much more different boulder graphics in UO that can be placed manually to fill up a small area which would look muchos better. ;)

The boulders don't work right. Never have. Really all you need to do is place a 2x2 mountain in the middle and you get boulders.

What you need to do is make the mountains low on the backside if you want to not lose visibility. My current Mod10 project has mountains starting at 5 Z and working up by increments of 5 so it's possible to do this. Otherwise, the maptrans.txt is very easily changeable to suit your own needs.

Are you talking about the 3 groups of 4 at the bottom Armada? I've never gotten them to work, and considering how Dragon does transitions; I don't see how they could possibly work. Like you said though; I could be wrong too.

I start the back side of my mountains about 2 Z higher than the ground level then work up 5 Z.. Sometimes, even same Z level as the ground, in areas.. vary it out a bit, and it works well.
