For anyone who didnt goto the RunUO IRC chat on march 3rd. My question actually got through to them and i asked If RunUO 1.0 will make custom maps run any better or anything like that. And they said that there are no problems with custom maps now.

So just thought id let anyone know who was intrested :)

Only thing difficult of map building is the limitations of dragon. I hope that Syds program (once it's finished) will be capable of doing better stuff :).

Just wish there was one program that had everything for a map, including statics builder. Something like dragon, worldforge and some other stuff combined. It wouldnt be a pain to find or get to know them then :p

Custom Maps with RunUO is already completly fine.. there really is nothing to improve with it. It is no different you using a custom map, than using the default UO Britania map, other than the scripts that define the region areas, and all of that stuff.. Wich is all within the scripts directory avaliable for any modifications the user wishs.

I agree with Dian. There's nothing wrong with RunUO's custom map support. There really isn't much wrong with RunUO at all, hence the 1.0 release.

Armada, I don't think Syd's tool will ever be finished, I don't think he is working on it anymore. However Orbsydia has tools coming out that will do all that and more. UOL is going to replace Dragon and Worldforge. UOAR Pro is going to do the rest.
