Hey i started making a map useing Dragon pre mod 9 version...... then i decided to switch over to mod9 ok this is my problem. How do i convert the map colors over to mod9 without messing up the colors. i change the mode to RGB color then when i try to go back to index color using the mod9 addon all my z=0 forsts change to z=0 swamp. I tryed not to conver the old colors over and use the mod9 colors to continue to make my map, when i use z=0 forest it converts to z=10 forest when i use dragon. This is all confuesing plz help lol. DO i have top redo the whole map to convert the colors to mod9 or is there a easyer way? |

If you were using the Dragon colors "as-is" before any of the mods, then you are going to have a problem. There's no easy way to do a conversion. The only way, short of redrawing your map, is to use the magic wand, tolerance:0, contigious:off and replace each color. You'll need the mod9 swatches or bmp open to select the new color that you need to replace it with. Of course my method required Photoshop, but this can be done in Paint Shop Pro, or any professional paint program as well. -Ryandor |

but after you have switched to mod9 you will be home free because in the mod10 by our own ryandor here will be adding a converter of sorts that will upgrade mod9 maps to mod10 maps. (Or atleast this was the plan?) |

Yes, that part is done (the concept anyway). It's a cludge and not perfect, but it will help considerably. -Ryandor |

This is a rather old post, but still, just incase someone is not as lucky as this dude and is using the right mod... There's a tool in photoshop to select all pixles of a certain color, this would save you alot of clicking ![]() Just click, select -> color range (this is where its located in 6.0, might have been moved). ![]() |

You can save even that amount of clicking by selecting the magic wand, setting Tolerance to 0, deselecting Anti-alised and Contiguous. To select more than one color, use the shift key to select the 2nd, 3rd, etc colors. To Unselect colors after selected, use the alt key and click the color you don't want. -Ryandor |

Little warning though. On slow computers such as mine, with a really detailed map the pixel selecting like this will take quite a while and it's quite painful. So don't forget to set everything back to normal again after you're done, because it'll be a pain :p |
