Do you actually have to replace the ones in your actual UO directory? If so, will that mess up the OSI version of the game? And if you don't have to replace those files, how else do you get copies of those files to work?

Any time you work with "Any" emu you should make a copy of your UO folder, one for the live server and the other for the EMU server. But yes you have to replace all those files and yes it would make the real ones unplayable if you did so. :)

Look into UOGateway. It can manage your mul files without replacing the OSI ones. http://www.uogateway.com
