I was trying to get an answer to a simple question from the RunUO forums, but for some reason they just can't explain things to me clearly enough.

Anyway. This is my problem.

I used the [freezemap command on my server and the program asked me to update my data files to make the changes visible. I learned from RunUO forums that I should patch my data files - but which files are those? How does the patching work? Which program should I use? I'm all lost with this thing, and embarrased too because I know this is very simple...

The easiest way is using UO Gateway.

The files required for patching are any of them that you modified.

If you created your own custom map using map0.mul then you will need to patch those to the player clients along with the statics so that visiting players can see the changes.

The new client does not use veradata files. You have to patch them into the actual files now.

The Mulbuilder program can do this.
