I just came back to the whole UO scene about a month ago and I havent done much INGAME, but ive been working like mad on my map. Ok heres my question is: If i place a building in game, and i remake my map and re-patch it back up, will the items still be there? And what about freezing things like structures? is that a good idea? |

If you freeze the building into statics, there's a chance that recompiling the map will wipe it out. If you simply place it as items, then you should be fine (provided you don't change the landscape at that location). In general, you want to freeze buildings to statics because then they are loaded client-side, reducing the bandwidth and computation load on the server, but in development, you might be better leaving them as items. |
